It's possible to reach many parts of the Pyrenees without flying or driving.

From Paris

  • TGVs run from Paris-Montparnasse to Pau, Lourdes and Tarbes via Bordeaux, in around 5 to 6 hours.
  • TGVs from Paris-Gare de Lyon reach Perpignan in about 5 hours.
  • The Intercités de nuit night train links Paris-Austerlitz with Toulouse, Foix, Ax-les-Thermes and Latour-de-Carol, plus Lourdes and Tarbes on some dates. Check current schedules.
  • Trains to Hendaye serve the Basque coast.

From Spain

  • Barcelona to La Molina, Puigcerdà and Latour-de-Carol on Rodalies line R3.
  • Zaragoza to Jaca and Canfranc.
  • High-speed trains from Madrid and Barcelona to Zaragoza, Huesca and Figueres.

Local lines

The Train Jaune, the Bayonne–Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port line, and the rack railways of La Rhune and the Vall de Núria.

Last mile

Regional buses link stations with valleys (for example Lourdes–Cauterets and Lourdes–Gavarnie in season). Book tickets on SNCF Connect or Renfe.
