Rafting

The Noguera Pallaresa river at Sort, in Catalonia's Pallars Sobirà, is Spain's white-water capital and has hosted world championships. Rafting runs from spring to early autumn, with the biggest water in May and June. In France, the Gave de Pau near Lourdes and the Gave d'Oloron offer rafting, hydrospeed and kayaking.

Canyoning

The Sierra de Guara in Aragón, south of the main range, is one of Europe's most famous canyoning areas, with sculpted limestone gorges, jumps and natural slides. The Ariège and Pyrénées-Orientales have excellent canyons too.

Via ferrata and more

Fixed-cable climbing routes are found across the range, including in Andorra and the Aragonese valleys. Paragliding, mountain biking at summer bike parks, and horse riding are widely available.

Choosing an operator
